Pakistan's Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) aims to vaccinate children against 12 vaccine-preventable diseases (VPDs) from birth up to 15 months old. [FAQ - Federal Directorate of Immunization, Pakistan] These diseases include:


* Childhood Tuberculosis (TB)

* Diarrhoea

* Diphtheria

* Hepatitis B

* Measles

* Meningitis

* Pertussis (Whooping Cough)

* Pneumonia

* Polio

* Tetanus

This doesn't necessarily mean a child will receive exactly 12 shots. Some vaccines are combined, so the total number of injections may be less.
